My pick today is Landon Pigg's "Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop" from the album, The Boy Who Never. I just like the gentle but not too gentle sound of his voice. I am a new fan so I don't know much about Pigg but I am certainly going to keep listening as long as he keeps making music.

The video for "Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop" is below but if you cannot view it, see it here. Lyrics are below the video.

I think that possibly
Maybe I'm falling for you
Yes There's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you

I've seen the paths that your eyes wander down
I want to come too

I think that possibly
Maybe I'm falling for you

No one understands me quite like you do
Through all of the shadowy corners of me

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

I think that possibly
Maybe I'm falling for you
Yes there's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you

I've seen the waters that make your eyes shine
Now I'm shining too

Because
Oh
Because I've fallen quite hard over you

If I didn't know you I'd rather not know
If I couldn't have you I'd rather be alone

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

All of the while
All of the while
All of the while it was you, you!

My pick this week is Lang Lang's Dragon Songs album.  My favorite track is "Autumn Moon on a Calm Lake."  I'm not a fan of classical music but with this album, I can certainly find myself liking it. Lang plays the piano, one of my all-time favorite instrument. Lang Lang's interpretations are traditional but with added modern touch. Dragon Songs is not of English/American classical music rather these are Chinese traditional music. I saw the dvd that came with Dragon Songs and I can clearly see Lang is very passionate not only of music but of their process and their origins. Below is a promo video of the album.

My pick this week is the album, Gemini Trip, a collaboration between DJ/producer Hu Zi and folk singer and guitarist Wang Juan. I couldn't find much information on on these two artist, at least none that are in English. But it didn't matter as much, not when you listen to the music. I don't recall where I found out about this album. I think it was some now defunct site. I immediately love the cover when I saw it - very dreamy.

The album is a modern mix of electronic and organic sounds - some of the songs has bird cries and water drop echoes. I like the gentle voice of Wang Juan and how the music just blends so well with her voice. You really have to hear the songs for yourself in order to truly know how beautiful it is. My favorite would have to be Pico Bird and The Last Tango but the whole album's wonderful.

Gemini tripThe songs are in Mandarin. Here is the track listing with the translated titles:

01. 兩個人的旅行 Gemini trip
02. 水滴 Waterdrops
03. 愛情國度 Love Country
04. 一個人的旅行 Solo trip (instrumental)
05. 兆分之一鳥 Pico bird (instrumental)
06. 最後的探戈 Last Tango
07. 我聽王娟唱歌時是這樣想的(大提琴 solo )What I ponder as I listen to Wang Juan (cello solo)
08. 最後的探戈(弦樂版) Last Tango (finale)

I cannot find the actual cd album to buy anywhere but Amazon and iTunes has the album in digital format.
